Toronto’s skyline just reached a new milestone.

The 106-storey Pinnacle SkyTower has officially become Canada’s tallest building, climbing past the 100-floor mark in late 2025 as construction continues toward its final height of nearly 352 metres. Once complete, the soaring condo tower will stand slightly higher than the CN Tower’s observation deck, marking a dramatic new chapter in the city’s skyline.

Located in downtown Toronto, the project represents the grand finale of the city’s decade-long construction boom. While the pace of new high-rise development has slowed amid a cooling real estate market, Vancouver-based developer Pinnacle International has left a permanent mark with what could soon rank as the 11th-tallest residential building in the world.

The tower’s breathtaking height has already created some unforgettable views. Recent aerial photos captured during low-cloud conditions reveal the building piercing through the clouds alongside the CN Tower and a handful of nearby office towers. The result is a surreal scene — a skyline that looks almost like a floating city.

SkyTower’s rise also capped off a closely watched skyscraper race in Toronto. Last year, One Bloor West briefly claimed the title of Canada’s tallest building after surpassing 300 metres, ending the nearly 50-year reign of First Canadian Place, which stands at 298 metres. But after several design revisions increased its height, Pinnacle SkyTower ultimately took the crown only months later.

When finished, the building will house 958 residential units, offering some of the highest living spaces in the country. Even residents on the lower floors will have access to incredible views thanks to a planned 106th-floor amenity level designed for panoramic city vistas.

The tower will also include a new hospitality component: the Le Méridien Toronto Pinnacle Hotel, scheduled to open in 2026.

With its record-breaking height and dramatic design, the SkyTower is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable additions to Toronto’s skyline — a symbol of the city’s ambition to build ever higher.
